Library moving
Coordinate library furniture, freestanding shelving and boxed contents across Orange County and Los Angeles County. BMG’s agreed physical moving work follows the inventory, sequence and placement plan approved by your library team.
Inventory reading tables, chairs, service desks, staff workstations and ordinary office contents. Use the approved destination layout to agree disassembly, transport and placement.
Review shelving dimensions, components, condition and access. Define any agreed disassembly and reassembly work; fixed shelving and building work require a separate review.
Have library staff define the collection sequence and destination identifiers. Agree who packs, labels, releases and receives each group, including any reshelving work included in the scope.
Identify rare books, archives, fragile materials and special collections separately. Their handling, environmental requirements and specialist providers must be reviewed before they are included in a moving plan. Library staff retain responsibility for collection decisions and patron records.
Share furniture and shelving counts, approximate boxed-content quantities, access restrictions and target dates. Use room and collection identifiers rather than patron information in the general moving plan. Confirm the scope and any phased access windows after the walkthrough.
